Scope
This policy explains how the WordDots iOS app and the website at worddots.com handle information. It does not govern Apple, social networks, email providers, linked websites, or other third-party services.
Information stored locally by the app
WordDots does not currently require an account. The app stores information on the device using Apple platform storage so that it can operate and remember choices, including language, difficulty, progress, puzzle history, free Wordstream counts, purchase entitlement state, and settings needed to resume an unfinished game.
App Store purchases
Sharp and Expert purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. WordDots requests product information and current transaction/entitlement status from Apple to show localized purchase information, complete purchases, restore purchases, and unlock the appropriate Wordstream catalog.
Daily schedule configuration request
The app may request https://www.worddots.com/app-config/ios.json to obtain the Daily schedule epoch. The request does not intentionally include a WordDots account, puzzle answer, gameplay history, or advertising identifier.
Sharing and photo-library access
When a player chooses to share a Daily result, WordDots creates the result image on the device and passes it to the iOS share sheet or a selected third-party app.
Website, cookies, analytics, and forms
The initial WordDots website uses no analytics, advertising, non-essential cookies, user accounts, or web forms. Contact links open the visitor's email application instead of submitting data through the website.
